“Khammam Jail Authorities Should be Suspended” — Indira Shoban, Official Spokesperson, YSRTP
Telangana firebrand, YSR Telangana party spokesperson Indira Shoban strongly condemned the treatment of tribal women farmers by Khammam jail staff. She complained to the Human Rights Commission about the incident. He said the inhumane incident against Ellannagar tribal women in Khammam district’s Konijar zone in the Podu land dispute had shocked the people of Telangana. He condemned the KCR government’s repression of tribals.
“While women are describing the misconducts done to them in jail in front of the media, it is doubtful whether we are actually in a democratic country,” she said. Indira Shoban said the incident made it clear that wild rule was prevailing in the state. The victim women say that the prison authorities tortured them by forcing them to clean the toilets, raising suspicions that the actual prison staff were human or monster.
Telangana firebrand Indira Shoban urged the chairman of the Human Rights Commission to take action against the Telangana government along with the Khammam district jail staff for forgetting humanity and behaving foolishly. Afterwards, the jail superintendent will be directed to provide full details of the incident. The next hearing will be adjourned to October 22, the Hcharsi chairman said.
After the HRC hearing, Indira Shoban said that the YSR Telangana party will stand by the farmers of the fallow lands. The tribals will fight on their side until justice is done. Indira Shobhan said that their leader Sharmila will visit Mulugu on the 18th of this month to know the problems of Podu farmers in detail. YSR Telangana party State Executive Members Tandu Bhaskar, Badhireddy Madhuvamshi, Kalpana Gayatri, party leaders Akula Praveen, Gangadhar, Betinalanka, and Beula were present at HRC Office.
